WHERE DID WE GET OUR BIBLE?
- The OT was written sometime between the 15th and 5th centuries B.C.
- The NT was written sometime between A.D. 50 and the end of the 1st century.
DOES THE VERSION OF THE BIBLE WE USE MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
- Yes and no.
- Yes…if we keep it in context with its purpose.
HOW IS THE BIBLE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RELIGIOUS BOOKS?
- The Bible does not try to cover up just how flawed its characters are.
- Despite its diverse authorship, the Bible is a uniform text.
- The Bible elevates women above the cultures of its time.
- The Bible authenticates its own claims.
- The message of the Bible continues to transform people’s lives.
HOW DO WE BEST USE OUR BIBLE?
- We use our Bibles when we need encouragement.
- We use our Bibles to help make decisions.
- We use our Bibles to develop a wholesome worldview.
- We use our Bibles for personal transformation.
- We use our Bibles to find the mind of God.
Conclusion: If you have a Bible, cherish it as a tool that God gave us to proclaim His Word for our lives. It is a tool, not an idol, but it is a holy tool.
