PRAYER FOCUS

For Dayspring to be a powerful Kingdom Force in 2026

Matthew 6:33

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.”

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us not to worry about daily needs like food, clothing, or tomorrow’s troubles. Instead, He redirects our focus: prioritize God’s Kingdom and His righteousness above everything else. Seeking the kingdom means aligning our lives with God’s rule—living under His authority, advancing His purposes, and reflecting His character in a broken world.

Building God’s kingdom isn’t about constructing physical empires but participating in His redemptive work. Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom is “at hand” (Matthew 4:17), already breaking into the world through Him. We join this by sharing the gospel, serving others, pursuing justice, and living holy lives. As Paul writes, “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building” (1 Corinthians 3:9). Our efforts—big or small—contribute to something eternal.

A powerful Old Testament example of this is Nehemiah.
Hearing of Jerusalem’s broken walls, he prayed fervently. Then he led the people to rebuild despite opposition, ridicule, and threats (Nehemiah 4). They worked with one hand on the tools and the other on weapons, trusting God for protection. The wall was completed in 52 days—a testimony to a united, faithful effort for God’s glory.

Like Nehemiah, we face challenges: distractions, discouragement, or outright opposition. Yet God calls us to persevere in building through prayer, community, service, and obedience.

May this truth encourage you: Every step of faithful obedience contributes to God’s unstoppable Kingdom!

Application
  • Prioritize daily: Start your day seeking God through prayer and Scripture. Ask: “How can I advance Your kingdom today?”
  • Serve others: Look for ways to build up your family, church, or community—acts of kindness, sharing faith, or standing for righteousness.
  • Trust His provision: When worries arise, remember Jesus’ promise: Focus on the kingdom first, and needs will follow.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive me for chasing worldly things over Your kingdom. Stir my heart like Nehemiah’s to build for Your glory. Help me seek You first, trust Your provision, and persevere amid opposition. Use me to advance Your eternal kingdom.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
