PRAYER FOCUS

Children Birth-12

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, “Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

God tells us that all children are a blessing and a heritage from the Lord. This applies to not only families but our church family. With this blessing, however, comes great responsibility. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7 God requires each of us to teach children about God in every setting and in every activity when we are with the children.

God sees each child as his masterpiece. As DaySpringers, we want to seek to see through the same lens God uses when viewing each person. God tells us in Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well”.

He tells us in Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in”.

How does seeing each child as God’s masterpiece change how you serve them?

Some think that children’s ministry is just babysitting. But this couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s actually vital Kingdom work.

It is so exciting to see a child light up when they understand God’s love for them or Jesus’ miracles. The faith and belief of children pleases our Lord and glorifies his name, which is our purpose on earth.

Matthew 18:3 says: “Truly I tell you, unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.

About a year ago, one of our children who attends children ministry regularly had sudden clarity of God’s love and forgiveness. He excitedly told everyone who would listen, “I signed up for Jesus”. I hope we can all be as excited as this boy to sign up for Jesus!

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the honor of serving your precious children. Help me see them through your eyes, recognizing their infinite value and potential in your kingdom. Give me wisdom and joy to pour your love, truth, and grace into these young hearts. Please my efforts to build your kingdom, to strengthen families, and to equip the next generation. We know that you are faithful to accomplish your purposes, even when I can’t see the full picture. Thank you, Father.
Amen
