PRAYER FOCUS

Teens (ages 12-18)

Romans 1:16-17
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed — a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Today many teens struggle to talk about their faith. For many of them it’s because they don’t want to be made fun of for being a Christian. Lots of teens want to blend in with the people around them. And often they end up making bad decisions because they want to fit in with their friends that aren’t Christians.

But teens can have a huge impact on people. By sharing the Gospel in their surroundings whether it be school, sports practice, or simply hanging out with friends; eventually it can impact the lives of others. By teens sharing their faith it can reach people who have never heard about God and that can be the turning point for many.

Sometimes, following God publicly can take a lot of courage, but having courage doesn’t mean always having the right answers. It means trusting that God is faithful and present in every moment. When teens rely on God instead of seeking others first, they can show Christ to others by their actions, words, and by the way they treat others.

This can all be done even in those times and places when praising God openly is difficult.
